You will need keyboard to navigate the menu (it's mouse-based). Other than that it doesn't matter.

Did you mean setting a controller key as hotkey? There are many controllers and they have different ways of presenting themselves to the operating system, so I cannot guarantee anything. It wasn't tested. We support extra mouse buttons, so with controllers keys that are mapped to those extra mouse keys it's possible. Everything else would need adding extra support.
